     Twin brother of David B. was reared in farming, His total attendenceat school amounted to ninty six days, for he not only had to help onthe farm in the summer but in the winter helped thrash, riding thehorses around the thrashing floor to beat out the grain. Suring thegreater part of his business career he was engaged in hotel keeping,keeping the hotel in Klingerstown for fully thirty years. He lived inKlingerstown where he also conducted a restaurant. He owned a thirtyacre tract in Lykens Township, Dauphin County where he lived for oneyear. He was a highly respected citizen and served some years asassessor of Upper Mahantango Twnship. He was a Democrat and a luthern.He and his wife were parents of nine children, five of whom diedbefore reaching the age of two years.

     was a prominent citizen of Upper mahanoy Township, merchant andpostmaster at leck kill, Pa. He was born in Jordan Township andreceived his education in the public schools of the home neighorhood.He was reared to farm life. At 22 he went to Bellevue, Ohio, where helived for 2 yr., then returned to the farm. After working on the farm1 yr he engaged in the hotel buisness at Shenandoah, where heconducted the "Farmer" Hotel for 3 yr. In 1883 he went to St. Clair,Pa. where he successfully carried on what was then known as the"Marshall House" (Exchange Hotel) for 1 yr. Mr. Leitzel spent the year1891traveling with his wife and son through the west, visiting manyinteresting places and journeying to the Pacific coast. Upon hisreturn he again engaged in the hotel business at St Clair, continuingthere for 5 yr. longer, after which they moved to Upper MahanoyTwnship, Northumberland County, Pa and operated a farm for 2 yr. Inthe fall of 1900 he purchases the old established store and hotelstand inwhat is know as Leek Kill having the only licensed place inthe township of Upper Mahanoy. He was hotel keeper, store keeper andpostmaster and was a thorough success. His hotel was patronized by thetraveling public and residents of the locality. The building washeated with steam and was well stocked with general merchandise. Hewas instrumental in the establishment of the Mahanoy & MahantangoTelephone Comapny, and was a director. He was identifed with theDemocrat party for number of years and weilded considerable influencein it conuncils. He wasa member of Shamokin Lodge, No. 255, F&A.M.,and thof Eureka Lodge, No. 260, I.O.O.F., of Leek Kill. He and hisfamily were numbers of the Luthern congregation of St. John's Churchof Upper Mahanoy Township.
