children: Catharina (1780), Elisabeth (1782), Johannes (1783), Margaretha
(1787).
Only four of their children appear in the documented baptismal records, and Margaretha didn't live very long. Two different versions of Elizabeth's record are presented to illustrate some of the difficulties facing the genealogist. Note the one-week difference between the pastor's record and the church record.

Note for: Frederick Reber, 1767 - 1800
Index
Individual Note: Frederick. (ca.1756-1800+) Married Sybilla. It now appears that
Frederick moved over the Blue Mountain before 1783; the family can be found
there in the 1790 census. At least ten children including two daughters
baptized at the Red Church in the early 1790s. He cannot be located in the
1800 census.
According to the federal census of 1790, Frederick was residing in Brunswick Township with a wife and eight children, 2 sons and 6 daughters. Where they were baptized remains a mystery, as does his wife's maiden name.

Note for: Leonard Reber, 1757 - 1806
Index
Individual Note: Leonard. (ca.1757-1806) Lived in Northampton Co. in 1783. He and
Magdalena Denner were sponsors at Windsor Castle Church in 1786. He then
disappears from the records until 1806 when his son Leonard petitions the
Berks County Orphans Court to appoint Peter Bodi as his guardian. Leonard
cannot be located in either the 1790 or 1800 census.
At the time of writing, the family of Leonard could not be located. He is mentioned in his father's estate papers of 1778 as residing in Northampton County, but evidence shows that he had returned toBerks County by 1786. The following baptismal record is his only appearance in the existing church records from that era.
Windsor Castle Church
In 1806, Leonard, son of Leonard, petitioned the Berks County Orphans Court to appoint Peter Bodi (sic, Bode) as his guardian. The record of this proceeding implies Leonard Jr was born ca. 1785-1790 and that the family of Leonard Sr lived in Windsor Township.
